Dickens Scholarship for Literature

Applicant is asked to read the Dickens’s novel “A Christmas Carol” and required to write a 500-word essay in which you reflect on how themes in Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” still seem relevant to you; particularly with regard to challenges or experiences you have had in your own life. Your essay should make a specific point about A Christmas Carol, but should also give you an opportunity to discuss connections to your experiences and to offer insight into how you have become the person you are today.
Recipients will be selected based on:
(1) Originality of the essay
(2) Overall quality of the writing
(3) Meaningful connection to A Christmas Carol
