The Westfield Pride Scholarship

The Westfield Pride Scholarship

The Westfield Pride Scholarship was established in 2018 in celebration of the City of Westfield’s 350th anniversary. The scholarship is funded through sales of the uniquely designed tartan fabric authorized and issued by the Scottish Register of Tartans. Sales of the handmade scarves, ties and keychains are sold through the Westfield State Alumni website. The scholarship is presented to the high school senior with the highest GPA from each of Westfield’s three high schools, who have been accepted and plan to enroll at Westfield State.

The Westfield Tartan includes colors representative of Westfield State and the city’s high schools:

• blue, white and gold for Westfield State;

• black and red for Westfield High School;

• purple and gold for Westfield Technical Academy; and

• green and gold for St. Mary’s High School.

Impact

“Receiving the Westfield Pride Scholarship has shown me that my city cares about its students and has invested in our future. Now I will be able to pursue my dream of becoming a Physician’s Assistant, and give back to my community.”
