George and Merian Rogers Music Merit Scholarship

This four-year scholarship was established by George and Merian Rogers to provide financial assistance for incoming Freshman enrolled full-time and majoring in Music. Applicants are selected based on merit, which includes musical and academic strength. Applicants should demonstrate regular participation and membership in the appropriate high school ensemble(s). An audition and interview is required along with strong entrance test results. Applicants will have a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher. A letter of recommendation is required from the applicant’s school or private music teacher regarding candidate’s work ethic, musicianship and potential to succeed in a college setting. If two equivalent candidates are being considered, preference will be given to the student expressing an interest in music education.

In order to receive scholarship each year, student must remain in good standing and maintain a GPA of at least 3.5 in applied music and overall music courses and an overall GPA of 3.2 or higher.
