The Victor and Mariellen Quillard Scholarship

The Victor and Mariellen Quillard Scholarship

Victor Quillard and his wife Mariellen are both Holyoke natives. Wanting to give back to their community, the Quillards established a scholarship for other Holyoke residents of Hispanic/Latino descent who once they obtain their degree at Holyoke Community College, will then transfer to Westfield State University to complete their education.

The Quillards generously donated to Westfield State and Holyoke Community College to establish scholarships at both institutions. Victor, a retired president of Hampden Savings Bank said he and his wife feel that Holyoke was a great city in which to grow up and want to continue to support its rebirth by helping the next generation.

Impact

“This scholarship gives me the chance to focus on what matters most, my studies. After I graduate, I want to work at developing new technologies that will assist returning veterans.”
- Joselmang Leon, Inaugural recipient

“I am honored to have received the Victor and Mariellen Quillard scholarship. Since I was younger becoming a police officer or a state trooper was my end goal. Hopefully, I can succeed with my goals, and become a state trooper.”
Kenneth Borges-Vega ’24, Criminal Justice

“Your support means a lot to me, I am committed to becoming a teacher and using what I learn to teach children to achieve everything they set their hearts to. Because of you, I am one step closer to that, so thank you.”
Kiara M. Nazario-Cartagena ’22, Early Childhood Education and Liberal Studies
